The Modelling industry is no walk in the park but if you are a dedicated ambitious person willing to succeed then you are one third there.
Its not just great looks that makes a succsessful model but one whom looks after their body, this includes excercise, diet, sleep and good grooming. One of the most important attributes is a good personality as you will be meeting with many people in your modelling career, art directors, photographers, makeup, hair stylists, and the client who commissions you! There are the not so good times too! Long hours, travel, it can also be a lonely place to be when up against tough competition during castings.
There are the good sides to being a model, the glamour, fun, travel and the rewards can be immense so long as you keep yourselfs level headed and not become to over the top.
To start you do not need to spend any money so any agency that asks for any payment you should avoid, you should start by getting a portfolio together, most photographers will do test shoots with you for free or at worst the cost of film/cd's etc, It is called time for prints/cd, you give your time for free as does the photographer then you can both use the images for your portfolios. We run short day courses for wannabe models and develop and train our models that are selected to be represented on our books.
